Silvia Gugu is a Romanian born urban designer and design reporter, who practices both in her native country and the United States. She has a Master's in Community Planning from the University of Cincinnati, and a Bachelor's in Urban Design and a minor in Architecture from Ion Mincu University in Bucharest. She also completed brief architecture, urban design and anthropology programs in Kriva Palanka and Skopje, Macedonia; Ramnicu Valcea, Romania; and Brussels, Belgium. These varied experiences shaped her professional persona as a multidisciplinary cumulus of design skills and cultural apprehension, enabling her to bring a contemporary perspective on projects in Eastern Europe, North America, and Middle East. Her expertise includes urban regeneration, sustainable development, and masterplanned communities.
Silvia became Lady Gugu at the end of many years of carrying her name with pride and lack of prejudice, when she got married and refused to change it.
